Appalachian Gap Ridgeline Whiskey

Origin

We imagined Ridgeline before we even started up our distillery — a rich whiskey, reminiscent of bourbon and Irish whiskies, but with a character all its own.

Notes

Production: We start with a mash of local barley, corn, and rye. Double-distilled, it is then aged in new American oak barrels and finished in port wine barrels to create a truly special whiskey.

Nose: Cedar, mint, dried fruit, with notes of vanilla.

Palate: Opens with crisp autumn fruit notes that gain spice and warmth on the palate, developing flavors of dried fruit, vanilla, and leather and tobacco notes like a finely-aged red wine, with a lingering sweetness and hint of char. The finish is warm, with sweet spice and nutty notes followed by a clean burn.

Amrut Indian Single Malt Fusion Whiskey

Amrut Fusion is light golden in color, which reflects its aging in ex-bourbon barrels. On the nose, bold notes of vanilla, citrus, raisins, and cereal malt are joined by a touch of salinity for a surprisingly complex experience. I sat with it for a while, enjoying the different aromas that come out of the glass.

On the palate, Amrut Fusion opens with light smoke from its peated Scottish barley but then quickly moves on to caramel, honey, brininess, and cereal notes. The finish is fairly long as the flavors slowly dissipate into the barest hints of honey and smoke.

Amrut Indian Single Malt Whiskey

Amrut Single Malt is a brand of Indian single malt whisky, made from Indian barley grown at the foothills of the Himalayas. The whisky is distilled in small batches in Bangalore, where the tropical climate accelerates the maturation process but also increases the angel's share. The whisky is not chill-filtered and has aromas and flavors of vanilla, coconut, almond, brown sugar, peat smoke, and honey. The name Amrut comes from a Sanskrit word that means "nectar of the gods" or "drink of the gods".

Prizefight Irish Whiskey

Prizefight is a collaborative Irish whiskey, distilled and aged in Ireland, and finished in American rye casks. The result is incredibly complex whiskey, a smooth and mellow spirit that packs a punch but never burns.

Prizefight is a blend of 10-year-old malt and 4-year-old grain, finished in rye barrels for 6 months.

Tasting Notes: Fresh and clean with fruit, floral, and spice notes. Sweet and refreshing up front, followed by a subtle hint of bitterness and a spicy finish.
